Manaslu Trek Day 4
Machha Khola to Jagat
3,050 to 4,494 feet
From my journal, Wednesday, November 12:
This was a long day with many ups and downs. There are waterfalls falling into the river in many places. We passed lots of lots of local people carrying goods on their back secured by a strap over their head. There are many donkey trains, followed by a young man with a stick, making sounds to keep his train moving. Some of these young men look like they could be Navajo Native Americans, with dark hair in a pony trail and dirty from the trail. Last month I visited the ancient Native American cliff dwellings in Utah. I feel like being here, I am seeing the culture of those cliff dwelling people come alive.
