Day one was a strenours cross-country trek over Lamarck Col at about 13,000 feet and down into Darwin Canyon.

This is the hut on Muir Pass. The place was hopping with lively hikers doing the John Muir Trail (JMT) from Yosemite to Mt. Whitney.

We met Dylan earlier in the day at Muir Pass. He was happily carrying about 65 pounds and two packs.. He was a lot of fun. This was taken at the start of our 4th day.
